Tails Adventure is severely underrated due to several reasons, such as a natural dislike of games with bad graphics, and a cynicism towards spin-offs. However, Tails Adventure is a game I personally highly recommend; it's not really a Sonic game, and doesn't rely on speed, but instead on strategy. As Tails, you collect items and equip them at your house - both for yourself and your submarine - and using them, explore baddie-infested caves, forests, mountains, valleys, and oceans to get to the bottom of who's attacking the island you call home. Who happens to consist of mechanically-inclined birds. Ahem. But yes, you often have to revisit areas in almost a Metroid-esque fashion, and it can be a truly difficult game without making you want to lob your Game Gear out the window. If this sounds like your sort of adventure, give it a try!
